About the Position

Oaks Legal LLC is seeking a qualified lawyer to join our Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice. We aim to strengthen our team by hiring individuals who are dynamic, collaborative, and committed to professional growth.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

• Draft and review a variety of legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Manage case files efficiently, delivering high-quality work within established deadlines.

• Coordinate actively with clients and the team, maintaining clear communication to support a smooth workflow and providing timely updates.

• Assist senior lawyers with matters arising during daily operations and casework.

• Attending court hearings including case conferences and summons hearings. 

• Handle additional related tasks as assigned according to ongoing needs.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) as a Singapore-qualified lawyer (Legal Associate).

• Experience in general commercial and civil litigation.

• Demonstrated excellence in both verbal and written communication skills.

Legal Secretary

About the job: We are seeking a junior secretary to provide secretarial assistance and support to 1 – 2 Directors and their teams in the Dispute Resolution department.  
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Offer comprehensive secretarial support, which includes scheduling appointments and meetings, handling incoming calls, and managing general inquiries.
• Conduct conflict checks as required by the team.
• Assist in the preparation of legal documents for both internal and external purposes, ensuring consistency in formatting, numbering, and other details.
• Support lawyers with the billing process by drafting pre-bills, editing narratives, preparing cover letters and emails, and finalizing bills.
• Prepare and submit expense claims on behalf of lawyers.
• Undertake other ad hoc projects as assigned by the Directors.
• Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
 

Education / Qualifications
• GCE O Level or Diploma holder.
• 1 to 2 years of secretarial experience in the legal industry is preferred.
• Candidates without relevant experience may also apply, on-the-job training will be provided.
• Demonstrates a good command of written and spoken English.


General Skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Effective team player.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Friendly, approachable, and flexible in approach.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
